welcome speeaches from the organizers of BISMA
Dear pianists, dear guests of the Academy!
After a successful start in 2019, we are extremely happy to welcome you to the second edition of BISMA Bacewicz International Summer Music Academy! More than 50 pianists from thirteen different countries have registered to participate in the first edition of BISMA and we are looking forward to beating this number in 2020! Since our idea of combining junior and senior professors was welcomed with great enthusiasm, this year we decided to continue this successful scheme. We are very honoured to have two of the greatest pianists and professors in the world on our teaching faculty roster again in August 2020. They will be joined by two young musicians, who despite their age, have started a successful teaching careers at some of the most renowned music conservatoires in Europe. During BISMA, participants have a chance not only to learn from brilliant musicians, but also to share their music with the audience in Poland and abroad thanks to the live broadcast of our daily concerts. We encourage pianists from all over the world to apply for the second edition of the BISMA Bacewicz International Summer Music Academy in Łódź and we are certain it will again have a great positive impact on the cultural life of the city of Łódź and Poland. We are looking forward to welcoming all of you!

RECTOR OF THE GRAZYNA AND KIEJSTUT BACEWICZ ACADEMY OF MUSIC IN ŁÓDŹ
Dear musicians, Ladies and Gentlemen!
This is the second time the Grazyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz University of Music in Lodz will host those exceptional piano masterclasses. It is my pleasure to invite all pianists, who are eager to improve their performance techniques under the guidance of magnificent artists and professors, to participate in the second edition of BISMA Bacewicz International Summer Music Academy. The Grazyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz University of Music in Lodz is an arts university that combines tradition and innovation. The classic interiors of Karol Poznanski's Palace (main seat of the University), which had been restored in a detailed manner and the remaining two modern buildings (the Concert Hall and the educational building) are home to a great number of new grand pianos from almost every renowned international manufacturer. This rich infrastructure creates an unique atmosphere conducive to all artistic creations. It does not only inspires musicians to deepen their performance artistry but also encourages them to search for a sublime interpretation of musical compositions. I hope that thanks to the cooperation with titled professors and high-class conditions provided by the University, participants will gain a lot of valuable experience and fond memories of their stay in Lodz will remain in their hearts for a long time.
